Nicki Jam is a playwright, producer, director and dramaturg based in Naarm(Melbourne), with over a decade of experience making theatre in Australia and internationally.
Trained as an actor in Sydney, New York and Los Angeles, Nicki went on to complete two postgraduate degrees at the Victorian College of the Arts — a Master of Directing for Performance and a Master of Theatre (Writing) — where her first full-length play, NEST, was developed.
Her play NEST was shortlisted for the 2026 MTC Cybec Electric program.
As a director and assistant director, Nicki has worked with Susie Dee on LOVE and SHIT (fortyfivedownstairs and the Venice Biennale), with Kim Hardwick on The House on the Lake (Griffin Theatre Company), and completed a directing placement at Melbourne Theatre Company on World Problems. She has directed and produced her own work across Darlinghurst Theatre, Sydney Fringe, and various independent stages in Sydney and Melbourne.
Nicki is a producer at La Mama Theatre where she has produced over 30 works, she is the founder and owner of Golden Jam Studio, a rehearsal space in Collingwood, and is the founder of independent theatre company Golden Jam Productions.
